linux network autoconfig
When you switch OS's there are certain features of said previous OS that are missed. For me one of these was the ability to have my network autoconfiged based on whether I had a cable plugged in or not.
Well along came ifplugd. What it is designed to do is check whether or not a link is detected on your device and then start the device, or not depending on the result.
I had tryed this several months(7-10) ago with very little success. Tonight though I have found an excellent step by step howto that works great with Gentoo, which is what I use.
I am SO happy :)
